Welcome to Living Life Free

Life is meant to be lived from a place of freedom! Oftentimes we allow the cares and pressure of life to weigh us down and confine us to a place of bondage, but there is hope! John 8:36 tells us “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” It is my prayer that each person who finds their way to this blog, will be encouraged and strengthened to break free of “any type” of bondage and live life free.  Please remember on this journey to freedom, you are Free To Be Victorious!

Breaking Cycles

” It is time to break camp and move on…” Deuteronomy 1:7a (NLT)

Have you ever stopped long enough to honestly evaluate your life to see if you are living life in cycles? Do you find yourself experiencing and responding the same way, in the same situations? If so, that is a cycle.

Cycle is defined as “a series of events that are regularly repeated in the same order” according to dictionary.com. Oftentimes, we are repeating the same behaviors over and over and over and over and over again, as if we are unable or incapable, of learning from our mistakes and making a change for the better.

On last night, my daughter Amber, sent me a song by Jonathan McReynolds titled “Cycles.” Jonathan makes a very profound statement in the song. He said, “The devil, he learns from your mistakes, even if you don’t; that’s how he keeps you cycles.” WOW!!! WOW! WOW! WOW! I was simply floored! How is it possible for the devil to learn more about us from our mistakes than we do? Why do we remain on the hamster wheel, running in circles (cycles), even though we have the power to jump off, at anytime, we so desire?

Just as God told the children of Israel, “It’s time to break camp and move on!” If we are honest with ourselves, we have been at “this” mountain or in “this” cycle, far too long! We have hung out in this same cyclic state of mind, too long! It’s time to break these cycles!! Our lives, and the lives of those connected to us, depend on these cycles being broken! So take courage today and allow every hindering cycle to be destroyed!!

Free to Break the Cycles!

Living Life Outside The Lines

“Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”

2 Corinthians 3:17

It really breaks my heart to see people confined to a mentality of thinking that hinders them from experiencing a little heaven on earth. We tend to allow our past experiences, and man made rules and regulations, dictate how, when and where, we live our lives.

I remember being so afraid to disappoint God that everything I did was out of a fear that He wouldn’t love me anymore. What I came to understand last year, was that God loves me! Do you hear me? God loves me!!! The quality and quantity of love that I have right now from God, will be the same quality and quantity, I will have  5, 10 or 15 years from now!! That revelation FREED me to start Living life outside the lines!

I want to challenge you to do the same; live life outside the lines for a change! Go to a play, take a real vacation, go to a movie, plan an elegant dinner or getaway for your spouse, or visit a place you’ve never visited before and go eat breakfast at a local spot instead of going to church (you will not go to hell because you missed going to a building). Sometimes, we miss some amazing joys of life, simply because we don’t know how to live life outside the lines!

We have to learn to live a balance life, so I challenge you today, to do something different; do something you wouldn’t normally do! How about this? DON’T DO ANYTHING!!! Some people are always moving! If you are that person, the world will not stop just because you take a day to do nothing!!!

Let’s get on this freedom train and see where it takes us!! All Aboard…….

Free to Live Life Outside the Lines!

Trust God In The Process

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts, ” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than earth, so my ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9

Have you ever had something pressing in your life and you really needed God to move on your behalf? You prayed, you cried, you tried to fix it, but you came to realize that the issue or concern, was really a God case, so you prayed and concluded the prayer by saying, “Let Your Will Be Done, in Jesus’ Name.” We know the WORDS to pray, but do we really understand WHAT we are praying?

In my life, I have found that when I prayed this prayer, it really came down to me “ACCEPTING” God’s will being done in the situation. Many times, we are guilty of praying that God’s will would be done in our lives and situations, yet when He starts the process of answering our prayer, we get amnesia and forget we prayed for this!

In Isaiah 55, God makes it very clear that how He thinks and how we think, how we would go about doing a thing, and how He does things, cannot be compared! We have to learn to trust God in the complete process, and not just the praying process. We have to accept the truth, that God knows what He is doing, regardless to the way He does it.  We can rest assure that when the process is complete, the answer to our prayer will be staring us right in the face!

So today, I challenge you to not faint in the Prayer Answering Process! Let God do what He does best! The process my include some painful and uncomfortable steps, but continue to trust the process!

YOU Determine Your Return

“Remember this – a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure.” 2 Corinthians 9:6-7

Last year during tax season, my husband took the lead on getting our information to the tax preparer. I was in the middle of school, so my attention was elsewhere. I remember one night, she texted him and asked were there any other items we could send for deductions. He read the text to me and I became frustrated, because I was in the middle of my school work. When I slowed down, got over myself, and repented for the nasty attitude (it was nasty y’all), I heard a small voice say, “go back and look again.” Sure enough, there were items we had never claimed before, on our taxes, that caused our tax return to go from, a little over $2000 to over $7000!!!

Our tax refund was determined by us! I could have stayed in my funk, not looked for more items and SETTLED for the $2000, but I am so glad I didn’t. A little more time and effort, increased our return by $5000! In twelve months, we had planted mega seeds in various places and our tax RETURN, PROVED IT!!! In the text, Paul is telling us the same thing; how YOU sow, will determine YOUR RETURN. If you sow a little, you will get a little. If you sow bountifully, your return (harvest) will be MEGA!

Although, Paul was addressing money in this text, I have found this principle of sowing and reaping, works wherever it is applied in life. If we sow a little in our marriage, we get a little in return! If we sow a little in service, we get a little in service! If we sow a little in our dreams and goals, they will give us little! If a “little” is not for you, then consider sowing in a greater way: remember, the greater the seed sown, the greater the seed’s return!

When we really grasp the truth, that “we determine our return,” we should be encouraged to look at our attitude towards sowing, make any necessary adjustments, sow according to our hearts, so that we are positioned to receive a return that we’ve never received before!

Our challenge today is to GIVE LIKE YOU WANT TO RECEIVE; not just money, but in every of your life! Give love, respect, honor, understanding, undivided attention, compliments, or even a hug, in the same way you would want to receive it!

You Are Free To Determine Your Return! Go BIG!

Surrender to the Struggle

“When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long. Day and night your hand of discipline was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat.” Psalm 32:3-4

In its original translation of the Bible, sin is defined as “to miss the mark.” Whether we admit it or not, oftentimes, we can find ourselves “missing the mark” on this journey called life. Whether it’s committing adultery or lying to a bill collector, in the sight of God, it is all sin.

Our focus should not be so much on missing the mark, but rather, confessing we missed it, then repenting. Too often, we act as though, there is nothing to us sinning. Since we see no IMMEDIATE consequences or results of our sinning, we act as though, there is no IMMEDIATE need to correct our wrong. Beloved, I am telling you this is not the case at all! The moment we “sin” or “miss the mark” is the moment, the consequences of our sinning, goes into effect! It may take awhile for them to show up, but trust me, “you reap what you sow.”

When we miss the mark, we attempt to act as though it doesn’t bother us but if we would be honest, there is a little “knowing” on the inside that starts to send us signals that something is wrong and we need to get it right. Like David, we fight the “knowing!” We know we have sinned, but we try to “DO” everything possible, to bring peace to our consciousness, except CONFESS and REPENT.

I am grateful for a loving Father, who loves me enough to keep His hand of discipline HEAVY on me; that hand that applies just enough pressure, not kill me, but to bring me to my knees to CONFESS and REPENT. Our true restoration, will not manifest, until we stop trying to hide our sins, confess them and repent. For us not to do this, is rebellion to the Lord!

Today I challenge us to go ahead and “Surrender to the Struggle!” Let’s go ahead and CONFESS and REPENT, because our hands are not only too short to box with God, but His hand carries far more weight, than ours!

You Are Free to Repent and Confess!

What Is Your Brand Saying?

“You are a brand and you don’t have a choice in the matter. Your values, actions and decisions are continuously on display for the world to judge and draw conclusions from.” Tanisha Holliday

In her new book, LEADer Formation, Position to SOAR, Tanisha Holliday brings awareness to her readers, letting us know our values, actions and decisions, all play a part in the development of our brand.  Brand is defined as, “unique design, signs, symbol, words, or a combination of these, employed in creating an image that identifies a product and differentiates it from its competitors.”

Whether we want to accept and believe  it or not, how we carry ourselves, tell people a lot about us and causes them to draw certain conclusions about us, without them ever having to interact with us. Now let’s be honest; some of their conclusions are spot-on!! We can’t live any kind of way and think it will not affect others. We must remember that our names (brand) are on the line! Our brand is on display! Someone is ALWAYS watching us!

When I was a child and would find myself in trouble for doing something I should not have done, my Mommie would say, (as she was putting that rod of correction on me🙂 “WE don’t act like this!”  She was reminding me, that the “Joneses” were a household brand name, and that the actions I displayed, did not represent our brand. Mommie, a part of our family LEADership team, had to ensure, our brand name was not tainted and continued to represent the core values and principles it stood for.

Have you moved away from the core values and beliefs of your brand? Is there a difference between you and others (competitors) or do you act just like everyone else?

As hard as it may be to do in our society, DARE TO BE DIFFERENT! Be determined to march to the beat of a DIFFERENT drummer! Remember, that your brand is always being watched, so make sure, you live in a way, you are set apart from every other brand!

Note:  Starting at Chapter 1 of Tanisha’s book, your mindset and way of thinking is challenged! You start to ponder your life as a LEADer in whatever capacity you may serve.  This book is not loaded down with Bible verses, however, there are spiritual principles, if applied, will add great value to your brand. This book is a tool that can certainly be used in the marketplace, to build or fine-tune your team! I strongly recommend this book!!! One Lie

“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32

Have you ever lost a relationship over a lie? It could have been a lie you told, or one someone told on you, but the results were the same; a lost (or damaged) relationship.

When a lie is told and it is never corrected, it will remain the truth to and for someone. This is why it is important to address that “one lie.” It’s the one lie, left unchecked that will set in motion, unnecessary pain, doubt, insecurities, change how we deal with the other person and leaves us in a state of wondering and wandering!

If we would be honest, the one lie, that our adversary, the devil, told us years ago, sometimes find its way weaving back into our lives. You know the one lie; “You are not smart.” “Don’t nobody like you.” “You are too dark.” “You are too big.” “You so stupid.” “You so greedy.” “Make me sick,” “You’re weak.” “Your life won’t amount to anything,” “You’re just like…” “Don’t nobody won’t you.” “You have to prove you got what it takes.” “You won’t make it out here without me.” “Your momma didn’t want you.” “You asked for it.” “You’re not good enough for this or that.” “God doesn’t love you!” “Ministry? To who? Did you forget what you’ve done?” LIES! LIES! LIES! LIES!

For many people, these lies have been accepted as the truth and now they live their lives, according to the lies! How about we start eradicating the lies that the enemy has told us and is still telling us today!  We must understand and believe, all those things are only lies, spoken to steer us away for our purpose and destiny. For cause us to miss the mark set before us.

In the New Testament, John 8:44, it tells us, “….He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” In other words, he couldn’t tell the truth if he wanted to, because it’s not in him! Ohhh, if we would dismiss the devil with his lies, just like we dismiss (place no confidence in) the people who have lied on us or to us; life would be very different.

I am challenging you today, to address every lie the devil has told you about you, that you have started to believe! Every negative confession you allow to come out of your mouth, MUST BE ADDRESSED with the TRUTH of God’s Word! We don’t have to accept the lie, because there is TRUTH, that is just waiting on us to embrace, so that we can truly be set free!
